Il museo Leone invece nasce nel 1910 presso l’elegante e cinquecentesca casa Alciati, poi annessa advert altre attrazioni barocche del vercellese quali Palazzo Langosco, in seguito al lascito testamentario di un altro illustre personaggio vercellese, il collezionista e storico locale Camillo Leone (1830-1907). Nel corso della sua vista Leone raccolse una vasta collezione di incredibili reperti archeologici tra i quali si ricordano il cofanetto medievale appartenuto al cardinal Guala Bicheri, i mosaici provenienti dell’antica cattedrale cittadina di Santa Maria Maggiore e un’antica stele celto-latina.
